An investigation into why the UK, in particular London, is becoming a popular region for international relocation
Global corporations from regions as diverse as North America, Europe and Scandinavia are all waking up to the fact that relocating sections of their business to the UK has significant benefits.
The Fully Furnished Group, a furniture solution provider, has seen a dramatic recent surge in companies requesting their services as part of employee relocation projects.
Christopher Ellison, from the group, said; “There are a number of contributing factors to the surge in relocations we have seen recently. For many overseas companies the current exchange rate makes London a favourable place to be carrying out business.
“In addition, as businesses look to consolidate work forces in the current climate, more and more families are uprooting for fear of turning down jobs in a weak economy.”
The surge appears to have been motivated mainly by a resurgence of corporate lets and a heightened optimism in the UK economy.
It would appear that global corporations are eager to take advantage of a relatively healthy UK exchange rate by investing resources and staff in the area.
The trend is only expected to continue as well and stock levels have been increased in order to accommodate the extra relocation business activity which is anticipated.
This news follows hot on the heels of reports that the United States has also been hailed as a relocation ‘hot spot’ in recent times.
Germany, China and the UK were the nations who sent the most individuals to the United States, with Germany actually sending more people to the U.S than the United Kingdom for the first time in five years.
The examples of both the UK and the U.S demonstrate that international relocation is thriving in certain areas across both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
