A guide to the idea of relocating abroad to find emploment given the paucity of UK based jobs in the present climate

The latest unemployment figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed a bleak picture for the period between June and August this year.

Up to 21.3% of young Brits aged 16 to 24 can’t find employment in the current climate, with 45% of them having been unemployed for more than six months.

Overall, the latest unemployment figures are showing that the total number of unemployed young Brits increased by 74,000 between June and August, and now stands at 991,000 Brits.

“The number of unemployed young people is now almost twice the population of Manchester. If we fail to tackle youth unemployment now, we risk losing this talent forever which would be a tragedy”, said Martina Milburn, Chief Executive of youth charity The Prince’s Trust.

This figure is even higher than the overall rate of unemployment in the UK, which stands at 8.1% for the June to August period, the highest in 17 years.

Considering these startling unemployment rates, how likely are Brits to consider relocating abroad to find work?

Many people reading this may not have even considered the idea of moving abroad before. However, given the current employment situation within Britain, if the right opportunity arose would you be able to turn it down.

Relocating abroad can be an enriching and rewarding experience, provided the position matches your skills and offers job satisfaction.

Of course, any relocation can be a complicated and, at times, an intense experience. There is a great deal to consider and people can often be overwhelmed by the idea when they simply consider everything that is involved.

Fortunately, corporate relocation companies can assist you with any queries or issues that may arise. These could range from worries over whether to bring a young family with you, to advice on the best places to socialise in your new habitat.

Considering the direction which the jobs market in the UK appears to be heading, relocation to another part of the world may become a more attractive idea by the day.
