An investigation into why Hong Kong and Japan may be suitable areas to relocate to in the near future

A selection of reports regarding countries within Asia suggests that a number of their larger economies are in exceptional financial health.

Both Hong Kong and Japan have received favourable reports, suggesting that it may be time for global corporations to consider relocating a proportion of staff to these areas in order to take advantage of potential opportunities for growth.

The Japanese economy this week grew for the first time in a year, expanding at an annualised rate of 6% in the third quarter of 2011.

Martin Schulz, Senior Economist at Fujitsu Research Institute in Tokyo, was particularly enthusiastic about the results.

“Having something as strong as hoped for (in terms of the economic results) is really good news,” suggested Schulz. “Basically all parts of the economy were expanding. And this is extremely important because we see a slowdown internationally, which is already hitting the exports.”

In regards to Hong Kong, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has issued a notably bullish prediction about the country’s financial future, suggesting the economy within the country could grow by up to 5.75% for 2011.

It is yet another reason to be positive about an economy which appears to be heading firmly in one direction.

A recent study of the world’s most popular cities for setting up global businesses has highlighted the increasing health of Asia’s economy in general, particularly Hong Kong.

The report, produced by real estate consultancy firm CB Richard Ellis, analysed office locations for 280 international firms, including some of the most established global brands in the world.

191 of the firms questioned (approximately 68%) had an office in Hong Kong and 189 companies (67.5%) had property in Singapore.

By relocating a certain amount of staff to the areas you may be able to establish the growth that your company has been searching for.

If you do decide to relocate to either nation, it might be a good idea to use international moving companies to help you out with issues such as property searches, tax/immigration laws and storage.
